Gene Pritsker

About the piece:
Originally I wrote Quantum Mechanical as a trio for horn, electric guitar and electric bass. The music for the trio attempted to illustrate musically Quantum mechanics, an observation that some physical quantities can be changed only by discrete amounts. Thus, the musical material repeats but with slight variation to the melodic and harmonic content, changing it over time. I took the first minuet of this composition and transformed it with electronic sounds that had other worldly qualities to it and called this piece 'Quantum Mechanical Electronic'.
